Tyre-Rite Ltd. operates this website as a 'mail order' service. In order to maintain our competetive prices, we do not work from retail premises. As our goods are stocked at different locations, order collections are not possible.
The wide range of goods we sell vary dramatically in size and weight, so it is impossible to calculate exact shipping costs for every combination of goods you might order. So, we have developed a pricing policy which we believe to be as fair as possible. We have a minimum charge which everyone has to pay for small orders. This doesn't just go towards the price of the stamps, but is there to contribute to our administration costs, which, if you are in business yourself, we're sure you will be very aware of. Please don't take offence, but the only way to avoid this minimum charge is to put your coat on (it's April as I'm writing this, and a coat is definitely needed!) and spend an hour or two driving around your local town, burning that precious petrol or diesel. It's probably best to bookmark us or add us to your favorites before you go (Hold down Ctrl and press D) just in case you come back empty handed!
Proof of Delivery
is protection for you and protection for us. A SIGNATURE IS REQUIRED for ALL deliveries. Please don't ask us to leave your order in the shed, by the back door or in the dustbin! You can easily give us a different delivery address for a relative, friend or your workplace during the checkout process. Business addresses are preferred but not essential, however they do sometimes get a quicker service than home addresses.
Standard Delivery to the U.K. Mainland
normally takes 3 to 4 working days to get to you from the day you order. Saturday may be a working day for you and me, but as far as our couriers are concerned, only Monday to Friday count. If you order on a Saturday or Sunday, your order will be processed on the Monday, so don't start counting your days until Tuesday. Orders up to 2kg in weight are usually sent by Royal Mail, over 2kg and it will usually be sent by Fed-Ex Economy Service. I say usually, because there are so many variables, alternative methods are sometimes used.

Premium Delivery to the U.K. Mainland
We don't offer a guaranteed next day service. This promise creates more problems than it solves. Having said that, Premium Delivery will give you prority despatch, usually on the same day for orders placed by 2pm (your order will at least go to the front of the queue on very busy days) using a non-guaranteed but very reliable overnight service by Interlink or Fed-Ex to most areas of the U.K. mainland. Expect delivery within 1 to 2 working days unless you are in a more remote area, where an extra day might be required.
Premium Delivery costs £4.00 EXTRA, regardless of your order value. This means orders under £100.00 will be £9.95 and orders £100.00 and over will be £4.00.
If for any reason we are unable to apply Premium Delivery to your order we will advise you by phone or e-mail, and give you the option to cancel your order or accept Standard Delivery.
Delivery to Scotland and the Highlands
is no problem, it's exactly the same cost as above! Unlike many companies, we do not surcharge deliveries to our many customers in the Scottish Highlands, but they can take 1 or 2 days longer. It's a long way from Cornwall you know.
Delivery to Islands & Offshore Locations
is where it gets a bit tricky. This may not be an exhaustive list, but addresses in Northern Ireland, Isles of Scilly, Channel Islands, Isle of Wight, Isle of Man and all the Scottish Isles are classed as offshore. The Isle of Skye, now with it's road bridge to the mainland, is still a place where the couriers like to pretend it's very difficult to get to, so you're offshore too. Delivery charges can vary depending on the destination, order value, weight and number of items. Please telephone or e-mail us first for a quote, and we will then provide you with instructions to enter the correct charge during checkout. Alternatively, select one of the Delivery options offered when checking out, and if there is any additional charge, we will always keep this to a minimum and get your agreement by phone or e-mail prior to despatch. Again, delivery times can take 1 or 2 days longer.
Orders from most European Union Countries
are very welcome. Many customers find it still works out significantly cheaper to pay our delivery charges than to pay the extortionate local prices. If you place an order online with an overseas delivery address, our Europe shipping rates are automatically applied. These rates include full insurance and a tracking facility. If your order is for a VAT registered company, first create an account, then e-mail us with your registration details. Once verified, you will be able to place orders online without paying VAT. For small orders (not including chemicals) up to 2kg in weight Airmail can be used if requested and at your own risk, and a partial shipping refund will be made when your order is processed. For bulky items, occasionally an extra payment will be needed, in which case we will advise you of the additional costs and get your agreement and payment prior to dispatch. As a rough guide, we can send a single parcel up to 30kg in weight for about £24.00 to the Irish Republic, France and Germany. Countries such as Italy and Spain cost a little more. Unfortunately, if it's two parcels, it's twice the price. You are always welcome to telephone or e-mail us with your requirements and we will calculate the delivery price. English is preferred, or we do like to ocassionally practice our Spanish, but other languages are not so easy. European VAT registered customers should always contact us before ordering to ensure they are invoiced and charged correctly.
Scheduled Deliveries
If you absolutely must have delivery on a specific day or a timed delivery (before 09:30 or before 12:00) please telephone or e-mail the sales office for a quote before ordering. These services are offered by our couriers, but at a price!
